Length: 15.1 miles
Type: Shuttle or long loop
Time: 2 to 4 hours plus shuttle time
Aerobic: Moderate
Technical: Intermediate/Advanced
Season: Early summer through fall

Land Status: GPNF, Mt. Adams Ranger District

Trailhead: From Hood River, go across the Columbia River and then head west on hwy. 14. Just after passing over the Wind River and before you reach Stevenson, head north on forest road 30. Stay on road 30 through Carson to forest road 3062 which leads to the lower Falls Creek trailhead. Leave a car here and then head back to road 30 and continue north over Old Man Pass. Park at McClellan Meadows Sno-park on the right a couple of miles past Old Man Pass. (1.5 hours)

Highlights: A great ride through dense forest and a few open meadows. After climbing steadily for the first 4 miles the trail starts downhill and rolls its way down to the first of many falls along Falls Creek. At this point the trail becomes steeper but is still very rideable and fun.

Note: The trail follows old road beds in places but is primarily singletrack. Use caution when descending along Fall Creek, the sidehill is very steep with severe penalties for going off the trail. Avoid skidding on the steep descents.

Notes from Ted 7/4/07 - Trail is in great shape, only a couple down trees, as the summer warms the trail will get dusty. Great ride as a shuttle.
